My name is Yosef. I was born on May 15, 1996 in Ethiopia. I lived in a small house with my Mom and Grandmother for five years. Then my mom had another baby named Mihret. So now I lived with my Mom, Grandmother, and little sister Mihret. When I was about nine years old, my mother died from HIV/AIDS. That was the saddest day of my life. After about eight months, my grandmother sent us to an orphanage because she was too old to take care of us. We stayed in an orphanage for about two years. While we were in the orphanage, we met many friendly people who took care of my sister and me. After two years, I got adopted by a blessed family who had one son and one daughter. So that means I have one brother and two sisters now. Now I have lived in North Carolina for over two years.
I like playing soccer and going fishing. My favorite subject in school is Math because I am very good at it. I passed my Math End of Grade Test my very first year in America. I want to be a soccer player when I grow up because I am good at it and it is an easy sport for me. I think it is easy for me because it is a gift from God.
This is me running to kick the soccer ball during a game.
